I met up with a former teacher of my college, Mr Lu yesterday, as some of you might know him as NY’s physics tutor. Ever since I graduated from college. And how we actually started to be in contact? Actually, I’m also not quite sure about it as well. All I remember was after he left college in year 2002, he started on his path in entrepreneurship. Ever since then, after a few encounters with him in college and knowing that I also started a business, we continue to meet up. We have lunch once in a while together to share how we are doing. Coffee sometimes.

Many wonder why he left his teaching job of 6-8k a month, including tuition, for something unknown. So did I. And he went in search of his path for almost 4 years since leaving college. Before arriving where he is today. He is now working together with a group of VCs, starting businesses and manging the various businesses. I’m not sure how well he is doing, but definitely better than a few years back I can see from his looks.

I felt there was some form of connection between him and I, especially the path and journey we had been through. And sharing with him makes me feel comforted that someone else been through similar times. But I’m sure his sacrifice is much more than mine, having a family and giving up 6-8k a month job for this. It was not easy for him. Few tool this path before, and he was one.

I appreciate the sharing and catching up session with him yesterday. I’m sure at the end of the day, he will be just fine.
